Overview
Built in the mid-18th century by a community of Serbian merchants who settled in Eger, this is one of the few Serbian Orthodox churches remaining in Hungary. The wooden iconostasis inside, gilded and intricately carved, is regarded as one of the finest examples of Orthodox art in the country, contrasting sharply with the church's modest Baroque exterior. It offers a fascinating glimpse into Eger's multicultural past. Small admission fee.
