Overview
About 30km north of Eger at the foot of the Bukk Mountains, this village is home to Hungary's National Lipizzaner Stud, established in 1912. A carriage museum and stud farm tour reveal the history of these elegant horses, and summer brings carriage parades and equestrian shows. The Szalajka Valley running through the village and its narrow-gauge forest railway are also popular, making this an essential day trip from Eger combining nature and equestrian heritage.
