A historic town famed for Baroque architecture and wine, home to Eger Castle and thermal baths. The castle — famous for its heroic 1552 defense against the Ottomans — Europe's northernmost minaret, and Ottoman-era baths tell a unique story. Wine cellars in the beautiful Szépvölgy valley offer tastings of Egri Bikavér in a charming small-town setting.
