Overview
This compact, colorful district in central Galway takes its name from the medieval Spanish merchants who lived here. Brightly painted buildings house traditional pubs, craft shops, boutiques and cafes, with buskers performing on nearly every corner. During the July Galway Arts Festival the whole quarter overflows with art and music - it's the most bohemian corner of Ireland.
