Overview
Powai Lake is a man-made lake created in 1891 by damming the Mithi River, a landmark in the Powai area of northeastern Mumbai. Once known for resident crocodiles, it's now surrounded by upscale apartments, the IIT Bombay campus, cafes, and restaurants, and is a beloved green space for locals to walk and jog. Sunset views over the lake are especially beautiful. Free to visit.
Travel Tips
The lakeside path is most pleasant in the evening. Relax at a nearby cafe with a view of the lake.
