Overview
Opened in 1990, Kaiyukan is one of the world's largest aquariums, themed around the Pacific Rim of Fire, with 14 huge tanks housing about 30,000 animals of 620 species. The central Pacific Ocean tank (9m deep, 5,400 tons) lets you observe whale sharks, manta rays, and tuna gliding through the water from multiple angles across 8 floors. The adjacent Tempozan Ferris Wheel (112.5m tall) offers panoramic views of Osaka Bay, making it a great combined visit. Admission JPY 2,700. A 5-minute walk from Osakako Station (Chuo Line).
