Overview
Completed in 1918 in red brick and granite Neo-Renaissance style, the Osaka City Central Public Hall is one of the city's finest modern architectural heritage sites. Built with a donation from stockbroker Einosuke Iwamoto, it is designated an Important Cultural Property. It still functions as a concert hall and meeting venue today, and is beautifully illuminated at night along the Nakanoshima riverside. It forms a walkable route together with Nakanoshima Park and the Osaka Prefectural Nakanoshima Library. Free to view the lobby (interior tours available with advance reservation). A 5-minute walk from Oebashi Station (Keihan Nakanoshima Line).
