Overview
Built in 1583 by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who unified Japan, Osaka Castle is one of the country's three great castles. The current keep is a 1931 concrete reconstruction housing a history museum, with an 8th-floor observation deck overlooking the city. In spring, the cherry blossoms in the surrounding Nishinomaru Garden are spectacular. Castle keep admission JPY 600. A 15-minute walk from JR Osakajokoen Station.
