Overview
Completed in 1993, the 173m twin-tower Umeda Sky Building is famous for its 'Floating Garden Observatory' suspended between the two towers. Indoor observation on the 40th floor and the rooftop circular open-air deck offer 360-degree views of Osaka, with Kobe Port visible in the distance. Famous for sunsets and night views, it was named in National Geographic's '20 Most Impressive Buildings in the World.' Below the building, Takimikoji recreates a Showa-era (1920s-30s) streetscape with retro restaurants. Admission JPY 1,500. A 9-minute walk from JR Osaka Station.

Travel Tips
Arrive 30 minutes before sunset for both dusk and night views. Cheaper than Tokyo Tower with a full 360-degree open-air view — great value.
