Overview
Built and lived in by architect Luis Barragan in 1948, this house and studio was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2004 - a rare honor for 20th-century architecture. Its bold primary-color walls, restrained minimalism, and masterful play of light and shadow are considered foundational to modern Mexican architectural identity. The interior can only be seen on guided, reservation-only tours, with limited photography allowed. Admission about MXN 500 (reservation required). In the Tacubaya district, near Metro Constituyentes.
