The city of Carnival and samba, defined by the Christ the Redeemer statue atop Corcovado and Copacabana Beach. Ipanema and Leblon are the heart of chic beach culture, while Santa Teresa's bohemian galleries and cafes add charm. Even outside Carnival, samba clubs and bossa nova bars keep Brazilian music alive, and sunset from Sugarloaf Mountain is an unforgettable experience.
