Overview
Set on 'Monk's Hill' in the Bystrc district northwest of central Brno, this zoo opened in 1953 and has grown into one of the Czech Republic's leading zoos. It participates in European Endangered Species Programmes (EEP) breeding Sumatran tigers and Przewalski's horses, and has been a WAZA member since 2000. Trails winding along the natural hillside lead past varied habitat exhibits, making it popular with families. Admission about CZK 250 for adults, CZK 180 for seniors/students (varies by season). Take a tram or bus toward Bystrc and get off at the Zoologická zahrada stop.
