Overview
Founded in 1356 by Margrave John Henry of Moravia with support from his brother Charles IV — who attended the consecration in person — this Augustinian abbey church has deep ties to the House of Luxembourg: the tombs of John Henry and his son Jobst lie beneath the altar. A major 17th-century Baroque reconstruction gave the church its current ornate facade, while the adjoining former monastery building now houses the Moravian Gallery. Located on Moravské náměstí (Moravian Square). Free to visit outside of Mass times.
