Overview
This triangular square has been Brno's commercial and social hub since the 13th century. Its modern landmark is a 2010 astronomical clock, a striking bullet-shaped black granite sculpture that dispenses a glass marble daily at 11:00 — crowds line up for a chance to catch one. Baroque and Renaissance buildings frame the square, and cafe terraces make it a popular meeting spot for locals. Free and open. 10-minute walk from Brno main train station.
Opening Hours
Open 24 hours.
Travel Tips
Try to catch the marble from the clock at 11:00 (it drops from one of four openings). The square is also a key tram hub.
