Overview
Designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1930, this functionalist villa was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Its onyx wall, chrome columns, and floor-to-ceiling glass windows were revolutionary at the time and still look strikingly modern 90 years on. For architecture lovers, it's a pilgrimage site alongside the Barcelona Pavilion.
