Overview
Built in 1554, Egeskov is one of Europe's best-preserved Renaissance moat castles, about 30 minutes south of Odense. Its foundation rests on thousands of oak pilings driven into the lake (its name means 'oak forest'), and a noble family still lives there today. The 30-hectare grounds feature a hedge maze, bamboo forest, and rose garden, while the castle itself houses a vintage car collection and treetop playground that draw families.

10:00-17:00 (10:00-19:00 in July-August; closed November-April).
