Overview
Originating from a 15th-century monastery that passed to the Crown after the Reformation, the current 13-bay white Baroque building was designed by Johan Cornelius Krieger and completed in 1723. Once used as a residence by royals including Frederik IV, it now serves as municipal administrative offices, so the interior is generally closed to the public. Most visitors simply admire the exterior alongside the adjoining Kongens Have (King's Garden). Exterior and gardens free to view.
