Overview
Opened in 1930, Odense Zoo is one of Denmark's most popular zoos, straddling both banks of the Odense River so the zoo itself feels like a riverside park. The Arctic Ring (Den Arktiske Ring) lets you observe polar bears and walruses through a glass tunnel, with additional zones for African savanna and South American rainforest. Drawing about 500,000 visitors annually, it's one of Denmark's top family attractions and can be reached by river boat from the city center. Admission about DKK 220. 30-minute walk from downtown or bus 21.
Opening Hours
10:00-16:00 (10:00-18:00 Apr-Sep; until 19:00 Jul-Aug).
