Overview
Spread across Monastiraki Square, Avissinias Street, and Ifestou Street, Athens's largest flea market has more than a century of history. Stalls sell vintage leather jackets, Ottoman-era antiques, Greek furniture, military surplus, 1960s vinyl, leather sandals, and olivewood bowls - Sunday mornings buzz most. Monastiraki Square itself blends a small Byzantine church, an 18th-century Ottoman mosque (now a ceramics museum), and the ruins of Hadrian's Library, and the rooftop cafe views of the Acropolis are among Athens's best photo spots. Free entry. Right at Metro Monastiraki (Lines 1/3).
