Overview
Lake Magadi, in southern Kenya's Rift Valley near the Tanzanian border, is an alkaline soda lake whose surface is covered in striking white and pink soda crystals. While it is also the site of large-scale soda ash mining, the lake attracts flocks of flamingos seasonally, making it a distinctive spot for wildlife photography. It's accessible from Narok via unpaved roads.
