Overview
Covering 1,510 sq km in southwestern Kenya and contiguous with Tanzania's Serengeti, the Maasai Mara is a globally famous reserve. Each July-October, more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles cross from the Serengeti in the Great Migration - widely considered the planet's greatest wildlife event. You can observe all the Big Five here, and lion density is among the highest in Africa.
