Overview
The Mara Triangle is a roughly triangular zone covering the western third of the Maasai Mara, bounded by the Mara and Oloololo rivers. Since 2001 it has been managed by the nonprofit Mara Conservancy, with far fewer vehicles and better roads than the eastern main reserve, giving a more peaceful safari experience. The most dramatic Great Migration crossings often happen on its western banks, and lion prides and leopard kills are commonly seen up close. Admission is separate from the main reserve ($80/day). Enter via the bridge from the main reserve.

Travel Tips
To experience both the main reserve and the Triangle, plan at least two safari days. Since Mara Conservancy is a nonprofit, your entry fee goes directly to conservation.
