Overview
Covering about 360 sq km at the foot of Mount Kenya, Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a private wildlife sanctuary holding Africa's largest black rhino population. It is also famous as home to the last two northern white rhinos on Earth, kept under special protection. All of the Big Five can be seen here, and the conservancy runs a chimpanzee sanctuary and community development programs, making it a model that combines conservation with tourism.
