Overview
Rising 178 m on Split's western edge, Marjan is blanketed in Mediterranean pines and is known as the city's lungs. Walking and hiking trails to the summit unfold panoramas of the Adriatic, Split Old Town and nearby islands. A 13th-century Jewish cemetery, medieval chapels and a small zoo are scattered across the hill, while the southern coast hides beaches good for swimming and rock climbing.
