Overview
The eastern gate of Diocletian's Palace once connected to the road leading to the nearby ancient city of Salona. Closed for much of the early 20th century amid urban expansion, it was reopened after restoration work in the 1950s-60s and now serves as a main passage linking the Cathedral of St. Domnius to the fish market. Traces of a small chapel above the gate offer a glimpse into the early Christian era. Free to visit. 3-minute walk from Peristyle Square.
