Split

Dalmatia

Split

스플리트

Dalmatia's coastal hub, built around the Roman emperor Diocletian's palace. The unique setup of a living city inside Roman walls, the cafe culture of the Riva promenade, and the nature of Marjan Hill are all compelling. A ferry gateway to islands like Hvar and Brač, Split is a living historical site where modern life thrives within ancient Roman ruins.

Best Season

May to September is best. Summer is prime time for beaches and island hopping, and the Ultra Music Festival (July) is a major draw.

Budget

Daily budget about KRW 80,000-180,000 (lodging 50,000-100,000, food 20,000-40,000, transport and entry 10,000-30,000).

Transport

About 30 minutes by shuttle bus from Split Airport to the city center. The Old Town is walkable, and ferries serve nearby islands like Hvar and Brac. Prepaid SIMs are available at the airport (A1, T-Mobile, etc., about EUR 7/week). Card payments are widely accepted (Croatia uses the euro since 2023). Tipping 10% at restaurants is standard.

Visa

Korean passport holders may enter the Schengen Area visa-free for 90 days.

Safety

Generally safe, but keep valuables secure at the beaches. Watch your footing on the slippery cobblestones inside the palace.
