Overview
Abi Khancha Mosque is an old neighborhood mosque set among the hillside alleys of Chefchaouen's medina - far less known than the Grand Mosque or Spanish Mosque, but for that reason a quiet spot to feel the local atmosphere. Positioned along a route of steep, stepped alleyways, it appears naturally amid the blue-and-white patchwork typical of the city. Non-Muslims cannot enter, but the quiet mood of the surrounding lanes and the modest facade itself capture the everyday beauty of the Blue City. Free to view from outside. Hillside medina alleys.
Travel Tips
Wear comfortable shoes for the many steep stepped lanes. With few tourists around, it's a good spot for quiet photography.
