Overview
Bouzaafar Mosque is a small neighborhood mosque set in a residential part of Chefchaouen's medina - far more modest than the Grand Mosque, but it has served as a daily place of worship for local residents for generations. Its simple square minaret and a sliver of green roof peeking between blue-washed alleys create a quiet harmony, offering a taste of the everyday life of Chefchaouen's residents away from the crowded main square. Non-Muslims cannot enter, but simply walking the alleys while the call to prayer rings out from the minaret is a memorable experience in itself. Free to view from outside. Southwest medina alleys.
