Overview
The Chefchaouen Blue Medina is an old quarter dating to the 15th century where every wall, staircase, door, and flowerpot is painted in shades ranging from sky blue to cobalt. The tradition began with the Jewish community, who considered blue a sacred heavenly color, and it gradually spread across the entire city. Each narrow alley has its own unique blue palette, turning every step into a photo opportunity. Artisan shops, weaving workshops, and tiny cafes are tucked around every corner, adding to the joy of exploration. Free to enter (outdoor medina). About 10 minutes on foot from the CTM bus terminal.

Travel Tips
Early morning (7-9 AM) is the best time for photos - almost no tourists and soft light fills the alleys. The most intensely blue area is around Outa el Hammam square.
