Overview
The Bahia Palace is a gem of 19th-century Moroccan architecture, built over some 30 years starting in the 1860s by Grand Vizier Si Moussa and his son Ba Ahmed for their harem and family. True to its name meaning 'brilliance,' it dazzles with intricate zellige (mosaic tile), carved cedarwood ceilings, marble floors, and 8 hectares of gardens that epitomize Islamic architectural beauty. It contains 150 rooms, and the orange-tree garden seen from the central marble courtyard is especially lovely. A must-visit for anyone interested in traditional Moroccan architecture. Admission MAD 70. Southeast medina, about 15 minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Travel Tips
Visit early morning for fewer crowds and better photo opportunities. Hiring an English-speaking guide (about MAD 100-150 at the entrance) adds deeper historical context.
