Overview
Dar El Bacha is a grand mansion built around 1910 by Pasha Thami El Glaoui, the powerful ruler of Marrakech at the time, showcasing intricate zellige tile, carved stucco, cedarwood ceilings, and fragrant citrus gardens - a masterpiece of early 20th-century Moroccan elite architecture. Restored and reopened in 2018 as the Musee des Confluences, it hosts rotating exhibitions on cultural exchange between Morocco and the wider world. Its marble courtyard fountain and cafe terrace, perfect for a mint tea break, make it a popular rest stop while exploring the medina. Admission MAD 60. About 10 minutes on foot from Jemaa el-Fnaa.
