Overview
Located at around 1,400m inside the Dachstein massif, this vast natural ice cave features enormous ice pillars, frozen waterfalls, and ice altars illuminated by LED lights for a mesmerizing atmosphere. A cable car from Obertraun followed by a 20-minute walk brings you to the entrance. Nearby, the Mammuthöhle (Mammoth Cave) and Five Fingers viewing platform are also worth visiting. Admission (including cable car) about EUR 45 (combo ticket discount available). About 10 minutes by bus from Hallstatt to Obertraun.

Travel Tips
The cave interior is below 0°C, so warm clothing and non-slip shoes are essential. A combo ticket covering the Mammoth Cave is better value.
