Overview
Zwieselalm is an alpine pasture plateau at about 1,587m, reached in just 4 minutes by the Gosaukammbahn cable car near Gosausee. At the summit, the Gablonzer Hütte, one of Austria's largest mountain huts, offers a 360-degree panorama of the Gosaukamm ridge and Gosausee below, and serves as a hiking hub for the western Dachstein region. The 2026 season runs 9 May to 1 November, with cabins departing every 15 minutes. Round-trip admission about EUR 21.30 online (EUR 23.50 at the desk) for adults. Drive from Hallstatt to Gosau, then board at the valley station near Gosausee — about 30-35 minutes total.
