Overview
Krippenstein is a 2,108m Alpine plateau in the Dachstein massif reached by cable car from Obertraun, and it's also where the well-known 5 Fingers viewing platform is located. The wide-open plateau is a hub for summer hiking and via ferrata routes, and transforms into a ski destination in winter with the longest run in the Eastern Alps, about 11km. The 2026-season Panorama round-trip ticket (Sections I-III) costs EUR 46.70 online for adults (EUR 47.90 at the desk), with cabins running every 15 minutes from 1 May to 1 November. Board the Dachstein Krippenstein cable car at the Obertraun valley station.
