Overview
The Five Fingers viewing platform consists of five platforms protruding from the Dachstein cliff at about 2,100m, each extending like a finger over the void with sweeping panoramas of Lake Hallstatt and the Salzkammergut. Each 'finger' has a different feature — glass floor, telescope, photo frame — offering varied perspectives on the landscape. Accessible by Krippenstein cable car from Obertraun followed by a 20-minute walk. Cable car round-trip about EUR 35 (adult). About 10 minutes by bus from Hallstatt to Obertraun.
Opening Hours
08:40-17:00 (May-October, varies with cable car schedule).
Travel Tips
Those with a fear of heights should be cautious. A combo ticket with the ice cave offers a discount. Only worth visiting on a clear day.
